RHIB driver for Sea-Watch 5
Due to a cancellation at very short notice, we are urgently looking for a RHIB driver for the RHIB (Z-drive) of SW5 for the upcoming mission from 31.05.25 - 15.07.25.
Valid STCW papers are very welcome, but not a must-have.
General info:
* On our rescue missions we will be operating a 7.80 metre FRC (Fast Rescue Boat) with inboard diesel and jet propulsion and an 8.50 metre RHIB with inboard diesel and propeller (Z-Drive).
* We have our largest crew to date with ~32 crewmembers, the volunteers will be accommodated in spacious, newly renovated 3-bed cabins with their own toilet/shower.
* After years of discussions, the Galley has been cooking vegan food without exception since March 2023.
For the omnivores among you, cheese and cold cuts will be available as bread toppings if required. The permanent crew includes a full-time, experienced cook who will spoil you with culinary delights on the missions with the support of a volunteer cook.
* In order to take part in a mission, you do not necessarily have to be in possession of a valid STCW Basic Safety Certificate, but it is an advantage as we are only allowed to have 12 people on board without STCW papers.
Therefore, please let us know if and which certificates you have.
* The position of RHIB driver is still an honorary position.
However, if required, we can discuss the possibility of a small payment to cover your running costs in the form of an ‘honorary allowance’ (max. EUR 840 per calendar year).
The costs for travelling to and from the ship are fully covered by Sea-Watch.
* Please note that a measles vaccination (or proof of antibodies) is mandatory for participation in a mission.
* Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months at the start of the mission.
